PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This course provides the ability to safely maintain and use hydraulic lifting equipment such as forklifts. The safety information and standards of practice will allow for minimized injury inside of warehousing and logistics. Students leaving the class will have the ability to evaluate the workplace to determine if equipment is in good working order, loads can be safely moved around obstacles, or loads may be too odd shaped to transport. Students are presented with the ability to evaluate the center of gravity on a vehicle with the load accounted for and are given a thorough understanding of fulcrum and moment forces and how they will impact the operation of lift equipment. Maintenance procedures include the proper inspection of hydraulic system, proper refueling and charging procedures, walk-around inspections, and sit-down inspections, as well as a complete understanding of equipment controls and instrumentation. Students will have the opportunity to drive a piece of equipment, attach and adjust forks, pick up and move loads, and maneuver around obstacles while carrying loads.
COURSE DETAILS

Students will have the opportunity to drive a piece of equipment, attach and adjust forks, pick up and move loads, and maneuver around obstacles while carrying loads. This course is OSHA compliant and maintains safety in social distancing efforts.
This course is perfect for someone interested in or currently working in the supply chain industry dealing with pulling orders and moving merchandise with the Forklift. Available positions include Forklift Assistant or Operator, Warehouse clerk, General labor and others.
Expected conditions to work are in warehouse possibly alternating with indoor offices. Expected salary may range between $9/hr to $14/hr depending on experience and skills.

REQUIREMENTS / ELIGIBILITY
To have a computer, desktop, laptop or tablet with audio and camera, to take virtual classes
Have access to Wi-Fi for the virtual training
Keyboard (to practice typing exercises)
Have basic computer skills (you will take a quick test)
Authorized to work
Low to moderate income
No sex offender records
Must be 18 or older
Preferred to have a High School Diploma or GED
Proficiently read, write and speak English
Preferred no theft in background
Be able to pass a drug test
Basic math knowledge
