SERJobs’ Success Story - Ms. B
A mother of three, Ms. B joined WANTO seeking a fresh start after experiencing financial hardships, unemployment, and reliance on government assistance. Despite these challenges, she remained motivated and empowered by the camaraderie and support of her cohort. Determined to create a better future for her family, she stayed focused and proactive throughout her training. As the program neared its conclusion, Ms. Barre demonstrated exceptional initiative. She networked with the president of FSG Electric, shared her resume, and left a lasting impression.
Her efforts paid off when the president referred her to the company’s service manager, leading to a job interview the very next day. The interview was a success, and Ms. B was offered and accepted an apprenticeship position with FSG Electric. She is set to begin her new role, earning $18 per hour.
Ms. B’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, the strength of a supportive community, and the life-changing opportunities made possible through SERJob’s programs. She has expressed heartfelt gratitude for the resources and support she received, which have enabled her to take a significant step toward career stability and a brighter future for her family.
